Lipstick

Lips can also be used to identify a criminal, like a fingerprint. Lips have certain patterns and ridges in them that can be left behind on a drink if the person has any sort of lipstick, lip gloss, Chap Stick, etc. There are certain rises and loops on the lips. There are also certain differences on the top and bottom lips of the person. For example, the bottom lip could be fatter then the top lip or vice versa. These unique patterns allow us to use forensics to identify the criminal if they recently had left a print somewhere. For example, if the crime scene was in a bar, it is most likely that the criminal left a lip print on his/her drink.
During our experiment, we were required to put on lipstick and identify five determining factors that made our lips unique. Then we placed them on a paper and switched groups. Then we identified which lips belonged to the right person utilizing the five determining factors on the lip print.
